Windows 8 drive won't boot without original parts

I have a computer with an SSD and a HDD in it. The SSD has windows 8 installed and the HDD has windows 7 installed. Both were installed while they were in this computer. There are no problems when both drives are plugged into the computer. Then I take the HDD out of the computer, the SSD won't boot even if I change the boot order. It tells me to insert a bootable drive and restart every time. The SSD won't boot in any other computer and the HDD boots fine on it's own.

This concerns me because I want to put the SSDs in a new computer, as this one is temporary, and I can't if it won't boot. I'm assuming this is a windows 8 problem.

Has anyone got any ideas on what to do or what is wrong?

I've got lots of experience with stuff like this, so there's no need for really in-depth instructions and censoring jargon or whatever.

Thanks yo.

then probably all bootable files are on the second hdd and when you remove the hdd the system cant start.
you can try to boot in safe mode and in command console type "fixmbr" but first you have to correct the hdd order(boot hdd to physical 0). then try to remove the second drive and boot.
Open up Microsoft disk tools in windows. Look on what drive the system restore is on. If it on the hard drive that the drive that going to boot. When you do windows installs with two hd or hd and Ssd. Unplug the drive data cable that you dont want the os to install on.

This was not the issue. Thank you, though.

This was not an issue when I had windows 7 on both drives. I have tried this, however, and it did not help.
