Hey guys, im starting a new pc build and im completely new to building, itll be and experience. Ill be upgrading from and Alienware M17X-R4. My problem is that im a little confused about how many watts ill need in a psu. My system specs COOLER MASTER CM Storm Scout 2, Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST3000DM001 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive, Dual ASUS GTX660 TI-DC2O-2GD5 GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB, CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600, MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming LGA 1155 Intel Z77, Intel Core i5-3570 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 77W and an Intel 520 Series Cherryville SSDSC2CW120A3K5 2.5" 120GB. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
Can you also tell your budget for the parts. Because :

1. Getting a 660 Ti SLI is wasting money when you can get 760 SLI for the same price and a 7970 Crossfire for just a little more.
2. 16GB RAM is useless for gaming.
3. That Intel SSD is way overpriced.
4. You are using a non overclocking CPU with a overclocking board which is expensive.

So, just tell us the budget and we will look up a good build for you. The build is fine but you are wasting money on quite a lot of things.

Also what site do you prefer buying from? Do you have any problem buying from Multiple online stores at once?

I dont have a problem with buying from multiple stores, ive just been using newegg.com. Im looking for a build around 1500-2000. Im an avid gamer so i want something where i can max out most next gen games. My alienware does well with games but the graphically demanding games such as TW2 im lucky to get 20-30 fps on medium.

way better build
1. newer gen OC able CPU
2. SLI 770s will kill anything u throw at them
3. one of the newest SSDs at a decent price
4. Platinum certified 860W PSU

Since this is meant for "Next Gen Games" that is why I suggest this 8350 build. The 8 cores of this CPU are sure to excel in future games and it would perform way better than any current quad core CPU for the same budget (like i5). It is also highly overclockable and the ThermalTake Water 2.0 Extreme will take care of the water cooling stuff.

+ 8 Core 8350 is sure to excel in future games
+ 7990 is basically 2 7970's in crossfire and 7970 is on the same level as the 770.
+ 1000W PSU to ensure that you never run out of power.
+ Cooler Master Storm Stryker is one of the best case I have ever seen
+ 240GB Mushkin Chronos in fast and can keep the OS and games without problem.
+ 1TB HDD is more than enough. Though, you might need 2TB. You can switch to it if you feel like.

+ 8 Free AAA games with the Graphics Card (Crysis 3/ Bioshock Infinite/ Tomb Raider/ FarCry3/ Deus Ex: Human Revolution/ Hitman: Absolution/ Sleeping Dogs/ FarCry3: Blood Dragon)

So here is the beast :

Note : We still have around 300 dollars budget left. So if you want something extra bells and whistles then you can easily get anything else if you like. But I see no point in spending more when you have everything in this budget. Why overspend when you already have the best thing.

IMPORTANT!! You should post the specs before you buy it and let us review what are you going for. We would look for incompatibilities and issues or Bad Choices. It is always recommended to review your build before you order the parts. Hence post the specs you are going for before you buy. It is highly recommended by me.
