Hi there, I'm new here on the forums and with computers. I would like to know if my motherboard is compatible with a certain GPU.

My motherboard is - MSI MS-7778 (Jasmine)

Graphics card - ATI Radeon 5770HD

I'm currently using a 500 watt PSU.

My computer model is Hp - 1455 - p7

Thanks for your time.

Well for that card you need minimum 600w psu so you need a new psu :)

My PSU is quite old, and im not sure how to tell if it has +12 volt rail and 30amps available.

It is OCZ stealth x Stream 500watt. I've had it for about 4-5 years, roughly.

Usually it says on the side of your PSU what the voltage and amp specifications are and your Mb is fine for running the HD 5770(PCI-E 2.1) your motherboard is PCI-E 2.0 so the bandwidth is roughly the same if you have a decent enough CPU you should get the most out of that card no problem.

Okay so i posted the wrong info for my graphics card, it's actually a Sapphire Ati 5870.

Now when i put it in and put all the proper PSU cords where their supposed to go it says on my monitor that there is no signal?

Sorry i forgot to add, i changed it too Legacy mode aswell, unfortunately i am unable to access my BIOS due to HP locking that part of it down. Any suggestions?
