Well, you could get a 3470 IVY i5 for around that or a 3570k, 4670K (Haswell) for about 20 quid more. Just make sure you have a well rounded system. You dont want to put a nice CPU with a crap GPU and crap psu. Do you have other parts picked out yet?

im getting corsair vengance 8 g ram and a £100 pound ish motherboard and i know 6 coes dosent mean its better but i will probably by either filming or streaming which is multitasking

with that chip though you definitely need a aftermarket cooler like the CM hyper 212 Evo and a decent board like the 990 fx gigabyte DS3 or a ASUS 990 fx

This is motherboard i am getting Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0 Motherboard (AMD 990X/SB950, 4x DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX, PCI-Express 2.0, USB 3.0, Network iControl, Windows 8 Ready, Socket AM3+) and i dont think i need 8 cores
