Hello guys.

I have small issues with my new Fx-6300 and M5A97 R2.0. The CPU is going over 65 degrees while gaming. While not gaming the CPU stays at ~ 45. I choose not to use the stock cooler so I went for this one: http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/detail/index/sArticle/522/sCa...
I have the Asus Ai Suite II for monitoring the temperatures
I will switch to the H40 from Corsair, but not as soon as possible, so until then I really don't want to ruin the CPU.

So, are you getting those temps with that new cooler, or the stock cooler?

The cooler you bought isn't that much better than the stock cooler heatsink wise (the fan is quieter of course). An FX-6300 has a TDP of 95W. Even if oc'ed a bit that number goes over 100W. Your cooler has a maximum cooling capacity of 100W. See bellow:

Your best bet is a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO for about $30. I have one, same MB and 8350 paired together, I am OC'ed to 4.4 GHz and my temps are just fine. Also, get HWmonitor.

You're using a 100W cooler on a CPU that can use over 100W in stock configuration under load. The 212 EVO is a better option for not much money.
