Have the ASUS K42F Notebook. Getting the message that the battery needs replacement. ASUS prices are outrageous and I write to inquire if there are reviews of third party battery manufacturers. Who has the best reviews?

Personally, I think its not worth it to save ~$10 and bad quality battery. Most people don't realise batteries are extremely dangerous and if you are using it on your lap and it explodes, not only will you get burns, but the highly corrosive contents will melt through you skin and organs. :)

Edit: try to buy your battery from inside the US, as they will all have to be fully certified and tested.
