this is a hard one -- screen saver and montior sleep won't work

Hi all,

I've had this probably for a few weeks now.

My screen saver and monitor auto sleep all work well, soon after a computer restart.

However, after several hours of computer activity, it stop working!

Things I've tried:
1) Deleted lots of processes in my task manager.

2) Turning off my mouse and keyboard

3) Trying different options...i.e., monitor sleep, and screen saver.

4) Switching from DP to DVI D.

I have a ASUS PB278Q and a GTX 660. Wireless mouse. Wired keyboard.

Please help!!!

Maybe I could use some sort of alternative program. I tried using a screen turn-off .EXE file, but after 1 second the monitor pops back on...as if the mouse were activated.

I often fall asleep to movies or forgot to turn of my monitor when I leave my room, so that's why I'd really like this to work normally.

This program -- http://www.dekisoft.com/mou.php -- allows a blank screen saver to activate on click. However, the auto activate doesn't work cause, again, my system won't idle.

I'm looking into a program that auto executes the screen saver check. Although, then I guess my computer will go blank for a second when in use sometimes.
