Ok, i'll take a stab in the dark because you don't give anywhere near enough info. But pop the side of your case off and stick a room fan into the opening, try the game then, if the problem doesn't return you have a temp issue somewhere.

If that doesn't work we're gonna need a part list and more info. motherboard, ram, cpu, cpu cooler and psu just to start. Additional details as well, does it go to black screen or blue first? does this happen with other games? how long have you had this pc?

Just as a guess, I'd say a power supply that is too weak for the computer's specifications. However, all of us could make guesses like this without your computer's specs.

I'm leaning toward temps... or a psu overheating/dying myself. so i'm on board with the psu suggestion of yours. That said you're also right, without more info we're basically playing darts blindfolded.

intermittent issues are the worst ones to figure out. I still am leaning toward temps; your psu is a good enough one to not be an immediate suspect. if you keep having the issue in the future, and trying it with the side of your case off and a fan blowing onto your machine doesn't work, i'd look into trying another psu and see if the issue goes away.
