Whats An Expansion slot?

Solution
So I would use it for And Extra graphics card to go along with a current one?

No, not really. The discrete graphics card would normally replace your current graphics solution. In many occasions, installation of an expansion graphics card would automatically disable the integrated graphics solution.

what other parts could You use an expansion slot for?

As mentioned previously, you could use the expansion slots for a number of different uses:

Graphics cards
Sound Cards
Wired/Wireless network cards
Add-on Drive/RAID Controllers
Extra Cooling fans.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Of course, what expansion cards you can get/use depends on what expansion slots your motherboard has.

Actually, expansion slots are in the rear of the case and they allow for output connection from add-on cards such as graphics card, network cards, sound cards, etc... The front of the case is for external drive bays which are used for CD/DVD drives, card readers, etc.
