Hi, I'm building a high end computer that has already passed my budget, and I was wondering if it was worth it to spend a minimum of $500 on a 1440p monitor over a $150 23.6 in 1080p monitor.

1440p: http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=80441&vpn=NX-VUE27&manufac...

1080p: http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=57310&vpn=VE247H&manufactu...

Computer specs: GTX 770 4GB, 32GB RAM, i7 4770k.

I'm using the computer mostly for visual effects and video editing.

I already crossed my budget on this computer ($1500) so will the 1440p be worth it? Thanks!

Worth is something only YOU can determine.
For me, I love my Nixeus VUE 30" 2560 x 1600 monitor. I am thinking about a second.
I have little doubt that you would be pleased with the 27: 2560 x 1440 version.

I looked at one at NCIX, it was 27 in 2560x1440, I thought it lookfed pretty cool, but definately not worth the extra $400+ (IMO).
