fujisan2: All components are new. intel desktop board DZ68DB, intel core i7-2600K processor. Cosair memory vengence DDR3 4 X 8GB. Nexus switching power supply model rx6300 600 watts. known good samsung display.
When uninstall everything except CPU & HSF I hear 3 beeps. Put one memory module in, No beeps no post no keyboard no video. But all fans working all leds on case lit and cdrom drives working. check 4pin output from power supply anyway checks good. any ideas ? oh! change out memory modules twice. Same results.

try resetting the bios. with a stick of ram installed. it may force detection and help the system boot.
dont forget to try 1 stick in slot 0 and 1 sometimes a system will boot only when certain slots are used, if all slots aren't being used.
if it doesnt work for 1 stick try another. its unlikely all the sticks in a pack will be damaged.

Hi,

There can be a few causes as to why a new built system will not post.

1. Check that the 24 pin Atx block is in fitted right.

2. Also make sure you have connected the extra 12v four pin power block from the psu unit to the motherboard. The four pin is located near or next to the cpu socket. If this is not fitted then the board will fail to post resulting in a black screen, with the fans spinning and no beeps from the board.

3. Reset the bios from the two pins provided on the motherboard.

4. If all of that fails, then your next step is to check if the board supports the cpu with the current bios revision of the board you have. If the revision is lower than the one stated in the cpu support list from the Intel website, the bios will require an update before the cpu will work with the board.

Have a check, and post back on the results.

Thanks for the reply.
The first 3 item were already checked , but I checked them again. This board will not even try to boot if 12v four pin plug is not fitted. I even removed the cpu. fan for few sec. to see if the cpu had pwr (felt for heat.) It does.
ref line 4, I checked that the board & cpu. were compatible when I order them and checked with intel again after the no boot. I do not know the bios ver. of the board because the bios never appears not even in maint mode. and I don't believe you can update the bios with out seeing what in the cmos. I try once and the screen remained blank.
