My asrock Extreme 11 has 2 CPU 8 pin ports. Do both of those 8 pin ports need to be filled for optimal function, or are they both used for two 4 pin ports? I had to RMA my board, but maybe I had to fill up both. Not too sure.

You can probably buy an adapter to go from a 4-pin to a 8-pin for 1 CPU power plug. But I'm not sure how well or stable the system will run. It has 2 8-pin CPU power plugs I don't think just using 1 4-pin CPU power plug will do the job. That is like buying a 12 cylinder race car and putting a old 2-barrel carburetor on it. It may fit but it really won't do the job. Why spend the money on this motherboard just to Micky mouse with the power supply?

To me it's more of a hybrid. Great for SLI and addons. Does a great amount of both :)

The manual doesn't clearly state it so I was wondering what the norm was :)
