SLI Different Brand Question

I know there are a few topics like this, but they didn't have much detail.

I am wondering specifically if it is OK and/or worth it to SLI these two cards together:

MSI GeForce GTX 670 Power Edition 1079MHZ (what I have now)
-and-
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 OC 980MHZ (what I'm thinking of getting)

Also, what kind of challenges and limitations can I expect if I try to SLI these together?

The manufacturer of the cards will not matter as long as they are the same chip on the GPUs, which in this case they are. They will simply both run at the speed of the slower card.
