Hello, guys
Im submitting this because im going crazy.

So, a couple months ago i bought a new graphic card, an AMD Radeon HD 7970.

I got a new motherboard, new memories, but i decided to keep my old processor.

I was having fps issues, but i thought my 3 yo processor was the reason my fps would drop like crazy.

So, last week i got an AMD FX - 8120, but my issue still persists. in games like wow, i get 10 fps when raiding, even when everything is on low.

Actually, changing the setting doesnt do anything. My fps acts the same.

It doesnt happen only on wow. When i play skyrim, it will also drop, not so drastically, but it will drop considerably.

My motherboard is an asus m5a88-m
16gb of ram.

I have tried everything. Yes, my bios is up to date. I have disable that cool and chil thingy, i ve set my power limit to 20% +. Ive disable everything that might cause fps problems on CCC - and i ve set everything to application managed.

I really dont know what to do anymore.

Also what drivers are you using? If you are using 13.4, try these: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst1...

900W is more than enough, but what driver version are you using?

If setting changes aren't doing anything, then you have an issue with your CPU most likely. Monitor its temps and usage.

It could be a heat problem, watch your temps, you can try to use this: http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

Sorry for tanking so long to reply.
Patrick, i was using the previous beta version of the driver. I just installed it. I ll let you know if anything has changed.

Unless i set my fan manually to 50% +, my cpu temp will get to 50c+.

Realtemp doesnt work with my processor, sadly.

Hi, Patrick.
I just tried with driver you linked, but the fps issue still remains.

You need to get CPU monitoring software. If changing in game settings has no effect on FPS, it is a CPU issue. Look for temp and usage monitoring software. You could have bad memory or your PSU could be faulty.

Patrick, i downloaded the AMD system monitor, but i dont know how to really use it. After i click on rec, nothing happens.

Anyway, according to HWmonitor, my cpu temp is getting to 55C.

You also need to test your CPU usage and perhaps test your PSU out (not sure how to test these out).

55C max while gaming is fine. And you can test your RAM with this program: http://www.memtest.org/

Hi, Patrick,

I used memtest for about two hours, and got one pass.

To be more specific about my problem:

My fps will only drop if more stuff pop on screen. On wow, for example, if im alone, i ll get something like 90fps. But if im in a city, it will drop to 20fps. And it will start some crazy fps roller-coaster.
The same happens on skyrim or Starcraft 2.

Last time i used Heaven benchmark, i got 40 fps overall.
