Hi Everyone :)

I have a asus z68 -v pro motherboard (not 3rd gen) and yesterday it died. I am looking for an advice on replacement motherboard. My cpu will work with z77 chipset but not with z87. Is it better to upgrade the cpu and motherboard with z87+ i4770k combo or should i just upgrade the motherboard to z77. I am trying not to spend a lot of money if i don`t have to.

What i use my PC for:

I use my pc for mostly work and some gaming. I work for a advertisement company and I use mostly adobe products and some 3d software. As far as the gaming goes I play games like bioshock infinite, tomb raider and gw2 etc. and I am not a crazy about overclocking. I need a stable machine and I just use default turbo settings on i2600k (3.8ghz) most of the time.

Here is my current hardware info:
Asus z68-v pro - needs to be replaced
16gb Corsair Ram
Asus Geforce 560 TI video Card
750w Corsair PowerSupple
2 x SSD (1x60gb and 1x120gb)
3 x HDD (1TB, 1TB, 500GB)

Any advise on this would be great. I have to buy these parts as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance

Could go either way, with the 2600K think I'd go with a Z77, could look at the Asus P8Z77-V LK, which is a great mobo and would work with your other components, it would prob keep you happy for a couple years (especially if you OC, even a little 4 - 4.2, then you'd be ready for Broadwell when it arrives in 2015
