Hi, i was wondering if an AMD GPU can be put in my Toshiba L55t-A5290, and if it will boost my gaming experience. Also, some cheap but good GPU recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Solution
Check this; USB Video card seems to me the only possibility. PCMCIA Cards were made in the past... but they may not be up to present standards.

A wireless USB to VGA Kit may be your best solution.

The vast majority of laptops are pretty much crap but the few that are the exception are usually end up being Dells and most of them are getting fairly old. Upgradeable consumer laptops are pretty much long extinct due to cost cutting and people wanting the thinnest or lightest possible machine. So I suggest that you start looking at a cheap alienware m14x or m15x that is used. The m14x is meant for mobility so no upgrades but the m15x can be upgraded all the way up to a gtx675m at the very least.

Edited: Yeah, read about that.. And I know internal video can't be upgraded so an external display is the only solution. I added the link considering the OP asked about a cheap option. And what about the wireless video adapter.. for external display?

I forgot to mention that there is also Clevo and once in a blue moon Eurocom pops up on the cheap but usually two or more generations behind but still very strong performers. Second and third gen with only intergrated intel igp barely stand a chance even against a 08 model core 2 duo xps machine with an dedicated nvidia G92 for like $300 give or take.

Sager/Clevo or go Alienware but no matter what there will always be problems.
