Just wondering what would be a good upgrade for my Asus Essentio CM1630, its currently the same PSU that the manufacturer put in which is a 350 watt PSU. If anyone could tell me a good one that is a decent price that I could upgrade to I would greatly appreciate the info, thank you.

Hey kincaid88, are you having issues or is this a preemptive upgrade? What is your budget for the new PSU?

So, what is your budget, for the new PSU, how much are your willing to spend?

If you are just fishing, then the brands you want to look for are Sea Sonic, Corsair and Antec.

kincaid88, me recommendation are as follows:

- Seasonic SSP-550RT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151126) a no frills/OEM style PSU. Seasonic is a well respected PSU maker in both the OEM world and the enthusiast circles.

It is GOLD Certified, and at 550W plenty of wattage for any minor future upgrades. This unit should not have any problems fitting your case, and the cables should actually be "short" enough for your system. The fancier units (unless you go modular, but then you pay for the modularity of the PSU) have longer cables to reach farther distances, which in your case is not only unnecessary but actually undesirable. [What I would do in your case is actually get another case fan for the front of case to improve internal airflow, especially if you ever wish to get a dedicated GPU, for better cooling inside your case.]

Personally, I am not a big fan of buying product because of "rebates", as I only look at the actual prices. Not only have I read enough rebated related complaints, I have also experienced it myself; so from that on I never base my purchase decisions on rebates. To me, rebate is a potential headache in making, especially if you were counting on getting some money back or returning the product for any reason.
