I recently bought a desktop pc from ibuypower about 2 months ago. About a month ago my pc was randomly shutting down/restarting out of nowhere. It is completely random and would go off a couple times a day or would be fine for hours.

Sometimes it would be while i was playing games and others while i was just browsing on the internet and doing little to nothing.

My question being can this happen because of the cables im using with my monitors, the gpu itself, or the psu? Im just out of ideas to what could cause it.

Here are my system specs:
Mobo - Gigabyte GA- B75M-HP3
CPU - i7 3770
Ram- 16GB ddr3
Gpu - XFX R7970 3GB
120gb SSD
1 TB HDD
Monitors - 2 x BenQ gl2450 (one hooked up with dvi to hdmi and the other with dvi to dvi.)

Solution
That PSU has mixed reviews, but majoritively positive so it might not be that. Use this or something like it to monitor your temps: http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

If it is getting too hot it would shut down also

Ok well heres an update, after about ten minutes of playing a game it shut off and it hit close to 60° c and then it rebooted on me. As far as im aware 60° c isnt that bad and it shouldnt be the cause, correct?

Well i tried running a couple games to see if it was a specific game causing the problem. I believe its a specific game. I ran the witcher 2 and a couple other steam games with high settings and all that just fine barely hitting 50°c.

I run World of Warcraft though and it spikes much higher and then causes the restart. So i guess the game itself is just not cooperating for some odd reason. It hasnt had a restart unless wow is open, whether it be in the background or me actually playing. Earlier i said it was random, but come to think of it WoW was always involved.

Where would i go about updating bios?

Alright, ill do that but unfortunately i wont be able to do that until later cause it will eat up our internet due to how big of a DL it is. I will let you know when i can get a chance to do that.

I got WoW re-downloaded and i got a good chunk of gaming with it without any issues at all! So seems like that was the cause, i hope. :D Thanks for all your help patrick. Much appreciated.
