Hello,after choosing a Vga,I've got a Zotac 650Ti boost for a really gud price.
This is my current specs:
E8400 Stock (can't OC with my main)
650 Ti boost (DF)
4Gb ram 1333
450W PSU (not noname)
G41 (gigabyte with PCI 1.1 :( )
What should I upgrade more so the E8400 won't bottleneck the 650tiboost?What is this a low-end or mid-end gaming rig?
Thanks alot (If you could answer...)
P/s: I'm playing Bf3 in ultra with 20 Fps (wth???)

If your on a tight budget the Q6600 sounds like a reasonable upgrade, but I'd say start saving for a new full build too. You can get a reasonably powerful gaming PC for 800-ish.

The 650ti is a card meant for around medium-high details, at least without a few settings turned on Ultra; a Q6600 would probably allow you to run moderately well on ultra...

So 20 fps.. Well what you can do to improve it is add another 4gb ddr3 ram stick. I think the main problem is that your computer hasn't been cleaned in a while, and has too much junkware on it. As for the bottleneck problem, the links below show a mobo that can be overclocked, and also the ram.

Total cost: $86

Here is a guide to tweak windows 7. If your not sure on some steps don't hesitate to ask.

After following those steps here's what your BF3 gameplay should look like.

I agree with Patrick, processor is a must.

Battlefield 3 online needs a good processor. You may want to turn down BF3 from Ultra, that card isn't really meant for ultra in bf3, especially with that processor.

You're build is very low end, excluding the GPU. CPU, MOBO, RAM, PSU are all in need of upgrading.

Budget is a definitely a very good question here. RAM and lowering video settings is a viable option though.

I'm not sure why people are still recommending stupid tweaks like that still, no offense, but they really don't help(at least not on a computer in the last 4-5 years.) Well, maybe some like disabling hibernation files to save space on a SSD.

I love to browse YouTube and see a million tweak videos labeled "MAKE YOUR INTERNET FASTER" or "MAKE YOUR COMPUTER SUPER FAST" or many others, very comical. XD

I'm thinking his FPS is really low because he has MSAA enabled too.

Come on I make my computer so much faster with this: http://www.downloadmoreram.com/

LOL! I love those so much.

I've actually seen people believe ones like that, wish people would stop posting stupid tweak videos on YouTube too. People will actually go into registry thinking they will improve their internet download speed.

On a modern processor, it's rather, irrelevant. I have not see a cheaply mass produced PC that has trouble dealing with visual effects in Windows in a long time. Even if it did, it must be on old or terrible computer.

Anyway, better stay on topic here to. - Lin, are you willing to buy new hardware, have a tight budget? Let us know, and we can help you out best we can.

Get the Q6600, a new motherboard which can overclock, and a cpu cooler. The Q6600 is great only if you overclock it. If you do the trade then you should be able to run most games maxed out with the CPU overclocked.

To other people,my budget is 200$ :pfff: , which is kinda tight . ._. .-. ._. .-.
