So I finally decided to change my OS to Windows 8.1 Pro. I wanted to download a preview version to try 8.1 Pro. But when i was at the config screen, it didn't appear to be any save software and apps stuff. Instead only personal files. Do anyone know a way to save everything and upgrade to windows 8.1 safely?

Well first off you need to have original win 8 installed on your system to upgrade to win 8.1. Windows 8.1 is like service pack for win 8.

I think at the time of Installation it asks for it Upgrade or Custom Upgrade the Custom upgrade (Read the description of both belowthem)I think Custom will delete your data while the other one does not delete data and installs windows and Saves the old data in C Drive as WINDOWS.OLD

first off did you even hear how bad windows 8 is and second 7 ultimate will be the best operating system for a while until windows 9 comes out(assuming they don't mess it up like 8)

I'd suggest trying it on a different partition before upgrading - it's fairly permanent, and there's no guarantee everything's going to work properly.
