Hi there, I've been reading up on system specs and I'm starting a double major in screen production and games and art design next year in uni, and I'm sure that my system does not meet good standards for what I'll be doing. Oh and I've already tried on aus forums bust most of them don't know what they're talking about so I thought u guys might be able to help.

Current specs
Pentium quad core 2.4 GHz
4 gb ddr2 ram
Nvidia GeForce GT 430
Asus p5g41t-m lx mother board
1tb hdd storage

I've also noticed that many of you like a clean and tidy post so ill be following a set up from the user finneousPG, here's the link
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/353572-31-build-upgra...

Purchase date: with in the next 7 weeks (sorry I cannot be more specific)

Budget: as you can tell by the title anywhere from 1600-1800 australian dollar so please look on australian websites, some suggestions would be mwave.com.au and Techbuy.com.au feel free to explore the very small comunity of australian pc stores :D . Now please don't assume that it will be easy here in aus we get charged almost double than in the US.

Why: well I'm clearly out dated and Ill be doing 3d design and video editing which my current set up is extremely slow and annoying. I also game and am looking for ultra to very high smooth frames on most games such as bf3 arma2 and crysis 3 (I don't mean to be picky :p )

Monitor: as of now I have 2 24" 1080p which I use but will be getting a 3rd early to mid next year, so no monitor included

OS: indeed I will need a new is key windows 7 obviously, but will not be included in the budget as I can get one off a friend and yes it's the professional one 64bit

Preferred website: mwave.com.au as they have 24 hour deals for items up to 25% off and I'll save heaps on shipping

Location: perth australia

Parts: intel CPU and nvidia GPU as I've had many situations with friends with AMD breaking or not performing the way they should (I will not be changing my mind about that) I will not need a hdd as I have 2 but will need an ssd to install window, also a sd reader but that's not a necessity.

Overclocking: hopefully if I can get a good water cooler for a good price, I'm assuming since I'll be doing design and video editing ill prob need an i7 which I hope to overclock (a k series) to a good 4.5+

Sli: no thanks a single card will do me fine

Resolution: as of now I have 2 16:9 and will be getting a 3rd and using eye finity (not for games solely for having multiple program's open at the same time.

Confirmed parts:
Thermaltake Chaser A31 Black Mid-Tower Case $99 AUD
http://www.mwave.com.au/product/sku-ab48134-thermaltake...

So if you guys don't mind helping me out ill need a full build minus the hdd and case, so everything including CPU,GPU,power supply, ram (16+), motherboard, SSD, no sound card I have one laying around and anything I'm missing.
Thanks guys, I don't mean to bother you about the whole aus thing but next year is closing in and I'm feeling the pressure already.

If you plan to game on three monitors you'll need much more GPU power.

Wow that was a quick response thanks. I've read that the 770 is not much stronger than the old 680 so would it go worth putting the extra $200-$300 for a gtx 780?

I don't think so. If you want to invest more in the GPU I would just get a second 770.
