My AMD 8350 CPU is in need of a better cooling solution due to the extremely high temperatures when running demanding games (up to 90C when playing Far Cry 3 and Metro 2033). My budget is between £40 - £70, any advice would be appreciated.

This is a bit more than you want to spend, but it should help. I run the H80 and it games at low 50s with my case. Just make sure you use it as exhaust with your case.

What are you using now? What case do you have?

This should be good enough. It is a good CPU Cooler and for a good price. For under 70 dollars, this was the best I was able to find and it would take care of that CPU quite nicely. So this would be my recommendation :

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Water 2.0 Performer 81.3 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (£53.05 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £53.05
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

I hope this helps.

This depends. Do you really need water cooling? If your using the stock cooler at the moment, then you could get away with the Hyper 212 EVO. But if you really want to use water cooling you should check out the XSPC water coolers available at www.frozencpu.com.

You also need to consider the size of your case, and if you have the fan mounts. You also should avoid closed loop coolers as cheaper high end air coolers can perform better, such as the Noctua NH-D14.

And before you jump into a new cooler, you should consider other things such as if you have proper ventilation. Or your fans don't have enough air flow ect.

Custom loops are a lot better. Now, I'm pretty sure that, that water cooler or the H110 are the bests closed loop coolers. But until we get both in the same system, with the same fans we won't know.

The kraken X60 and corsair H110 are basically the same product with different fans. When both are on max speed the H110 generally comes out in the lead but really at that point the difference in temperature isn't very noticeable. The H110 is generally more quiet though.
