BSOD, most likely HW failure?

My friend has recently been having BSODs when executing GPU intensive tasks like games.

The BSOD says uncorrectable hardware error, so i'm guessing the actual processing unit inside the card is damaged somehow?

Hi,
Im the person NukaB is talking about, so I am here to answer your questions:

PSU: 500W Xigmatek.
The computer is currently 8-9 months old.
Neither the GPU or CPU are overheating.
I will run memtest86 after replying.
GPU drivers are up to date.

maybe one or more of your ram is bad. you can try 1 stick at a time if possible

could be mb cpu psu or ram. make sure the settings in the bios is correct for the ram. Open the side and blow a fan into it and if it works then you now its overheating.
