More about : 500w psu gaming
OCZ is a poor PSU. I'd get something like this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cmpsu...
It is 600W and should be plenty for your build. Hope this helps!

BULL...
That 500W unit is pretty good and will be enough for your build.
Keep overclocking to a minimum though.
Now for some other matters, have you already gotten these components?
What is your budget?
Where are you purchasing?

It is commonly known that OCZ should be avoided in favor of a better PSU such as the corsair I linked. This is all over Toms. It is not just my opinion.

I have been on the forum 3 years(reader for even longer) now and never seen OCZ PSU as being an "avoided" manufacturer.
Read that review, you should take each and every PSU model as a separate unit.
As you can see in the below link, 6 out of 8 OCZ PSU manufacturers are known to make good quality units.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-oem-ma...
This review gives it 9/10, which is being generous but given the price segment, its a good unit.

I have no personal problem with OCZ, but it is generally said that corsair, XFX and seasonic are the best PSU brands around. I would stick with the most trusted brands for a PSU. Again, I have nothing pesonal against OCZ, but when I joined the forum I was told not to use OCZ in my builds and to stick with the best trusted brands.

That is what you get told when you do not have an understanding of how these things work. Since this is the case, refrain from making statements that you do not know to be totally true.
Thank you.
Here is a tip, BRANDING means nothing, but manufacturers do matter.

Considering this is a sentiment felt around the forum, your statement is stupid. I have not just been told this, but I have seen this on other threads. Never once have I seen an OCZ recommend over a corsair, XFX or seasonic. This isn't a coincidence. You obviously do not understand what reputation is and OCZ does not have much of one. For something that powers my PC, I want something that is universally trusted.

DId you bother reading either of the posted links i put up?
Just because something is not suggested, does not mean it is not good.
There is NOTHING wrong with that unit.
Now stop arguing with people who know better because you "have heard" not to get OCZ...

I did actually. I suggest you calm down a little. You keep insulting my intelligence, yet you claim that most everyone on this forum, including people who are more experienced and knowledgeable then the both of us, would not take my side. Its funny because here is a thread in which not one person recommends OCZ over corsair: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/250472-28-corsair-p... this is a situation that happens all over the forum. If you claim you know better then everyone well then..

Nukemaster, only guy in that forum I know and trust. The rest are users that have not been active often or have not been here long.
He said :
"Lets clear this up..
Corsairs current line is made by Seasonic(as is most of Antec's)
the GameXtreme is NOT PC Power & Cooling its FSP(Fortron)
They are both good units with plenty of power to run the system in question.
I am willing to bet the Corsair is quieter."
Right so all I am saying is that you need to stop saying stuff like "OCZ is a poor PSU".
I NEVER said that OCZ is better than Corsair, but making a statement like that is foolish and you need to stop it.
DO you understand what I am getting upset about?

You discredit everyone except the one thing you want to hear, surprise.. Saying it was poor might not be true, but saying there is a better option is true. corsair is better then OCZ, no matter if you think OCZ is good or not. I don't understand what you're upset about. You can discuss stuff with me, fine, but insulting my intelligence is stupid. Getting upset over brands is stupid. If you're going to attack someone for what they say then you shouldn't be on the forum. You can inform people respectfully. There is no need to attack.

I tried that! And you argued... Go read...
I am upset because you say something slandering to a respectable company, and then ARGUE when you are told otherwise?
Don't talk to me about respect... Damn hypocrite.

You give me your argument and I respond. This is a democratic forum. We debate. I respect your opinions. I am not slandering them uselessly. I have a reason to believe that they are not as good as corsair. That is a common opinion. I am allowed to have that opinion. If you cannot respect that others have different opinions then its hard to be your version of respectful.

Those words are slander, No matter how you look at it.
Now goodbye.
