OK folks I made a noob-freaking-move. When one of my computer fans stopped moving, I got a wave of pure stupid and tried to hotswap its Molex connector with another one.
Well, my PSU turned off immediately and shut down my PC. I had 2 HDDs hooked up to the mobo at the time, and both of them got messed up.
-The WD 650GB looks like it got it the worst; does not show up in BOIS or any other way. It's a bummer but not a tragedy as the data on it is replaceable.
-My Seagate 750GB however, is my primary drive and the one I need to recover data from. Upon startup it makes some irregular sounds, can't be booted from, and can't be seen in explorer. The good news is that it shows up in BIOS, and in computer management, so that means I should have some options.
So, what can I do next?

(I'm currently running my rig off of a SSD that I had lying around)

If your HDD shows up as "0KB" size, you likely have a drive controller problem and if you want your data back, you many need to go through a data recovery company.

To recover data from a drive with a busted controller, you need to replace the PCB with one from the same PCB and preferably same firmware revision and even that may not be quite enough to guarantee success since the two controllers may have too different factory calibration parameters.

If the drive "works" but you cannot see partitions, you could try a deep-scan with tools like File Scavenger and see how much you can get back that way. With some luck, you may be able to recover most of your stuff before the drive fails completely if that's what it sounds like it might do.

Just started up File Scavenger, great program! It's not detecting anything on my Seagate though, neither is Computer manager.
Any thoughts what I should do next?
or is it time to look into the mad-scientist, wire-splicing tutorials?
