Basically guys & gals I wanted to know what the difference in framerate will e if i buy another asus radeon 7770 gddr5 2gb overclocked edition and will it be worh the £100 or so pounds? atm Im rolling with an amd phenom II x4 965 black edition with 3.4ghz 4gb of ddr3 ram an asus m5a97 pro at mobo and a single asus radeon 2gig gddr5 overclocked? atm i can play bf3 at high on 1080p with a reasonable 40fps at lowest in sticky situations and such and i was wondering wther or not it would be worth it and if so how much of a difference it would make say at ultra as well? many thanks

The 7770 in a benchmark I saw got 31.317 FPS vs two 7770 XFired at 63.717 FPS so they got almost exactly double the performance Same with Battlefield 2 Bad Company Xfire 90 FPS and non xfired about 46 FPS

Crossfire can lead to some issues when talking about smooth gameplay. That means, FPS isn't just the factor of smoothness, the frame time will also impact your game. That is why, it's always recomended to do gaming on a single card setup. If you do want smooth and non weird gameplay and compatibility but less frames per second, sell that card, grab the 100£ and buy a better one, if you do want to risk frame timing and the issues people usually have with crossfire configurations, go for another 7770. In all honesty I'd go for a better card. Less issues and less power usage, as well as less heat.

I'll second what miggtt699 said. Buy the best SINGLE gpu solution you can afford and avoid the issues with cross-fire and/or sli.

I did realize that his frames would be a bit choppy. But he just wanted comparisons. Thanks for the info though
