Hello all,

It has been a rough choice as to which motherboard would best suit the 8350. Many reviews of boards on Newegg claim that although the board supports the 8350, issues still arise. I've read through the posts here about motherboards for the 8350, however I would love suggestions from experienced builders on which motherboard under $135 would be the best choice. Looking to run memory at 1866 with a GTX 760. One main concern is bottlenecking. Please advise!

Thanks,

Keith

to flash the bios on an ASUS board using the EZ flash 2. you get the bios from the asus website, and put it in a USB drive. when you boot computer, go into the BIOS and go to the tools menu. and there should be the EZ flash bios feauture. hit enter and a menu should pop up. go to the USB drive and look for the BIOS file. hit enter and a prompt should pop saying "are you sure you want to flash bios?" and hit yes. and it will update the bios and it should restart after its finished.

go back into the BIOS and go to system information and check to see if the bios version is the one you wanted to update to.

here is a video on pretty much what to do.

Thank you for your advice. Forgive me but I am new to this. How would one update the bios if he or she was intending to boot the computer initially with the Vishera 8350? Forgive me if this question is dumb but once I figure it out the boards you suggest would be a viable solution. Thanks again!

well normally if the cpu isnt supported. then the computer wont really boot. it will turn on but you wont get a signal. but that depends on what BIOS the motherboard ships with. my motherboard has support for the new vishera cpu's but it shipped with the initial bios. sometimes if you get a motherboard it might have the latest one and sometimes it wont.

and most motherboard companies have their own way of flashing the bios. you can either do it through windows(if the bios update is upgradable through windows, which most today are) or some of them even allow you to flash the bios via USB drive while in the BIOS itself.

for asrock boards today, they have a feature called instant flash, where you get a USB formatted in FAT/FAT32 with the bios file in there, and you can flash the BIOS through instant flash feature in the BIOS.

thats why some people have a back up cpu for cases like this. where they buy a cheap compatible cpu that will work. and use that to flash the bios then put the new one in.

Thanks again. I will go with this motherboard. So to update I simply download drivers from ASUS Website then place them on flash drive and insert into motherboard? It will update?
