Run lighting program Hog 4 from all in one touch screen computers by Dell Running windows 7. I have had issues with 2 separate all in one dells shutting down and giving black DOS like looking screen that states "cant find boot disk reboot and select boot disk or insert boot disk now"

This either happens randomly after computer has been on for 1-12+ hours or just randomly on restart.

Sometimes when it does this I can find the internal hard disk in the F12 menu and sometimes the hard disk doesnt show up. Other times it just starts right up with no problems on reboot

so weird and intermittent

thanks for help

i think i had that once in a lenovo laptop..the hard drive died. got all the data off it and got lenovo to put a new one in and worked fine for the next 2 years (at which point an unrelated issue attacked)

although since you say that it happened in 2 different units, and as much as i am not a fan of dell i dont think their quality control is THAT bad, and i assume that you were using the same program, maybe there is some sort of program incompatability? although can't really think of a legitimate program that can mess something up that badly short of it coming in with a virus

regardless, did you check to make sure drivers and bios are up to date? that usually doesnt hurt
and maybe check around for program incompatibility possibilities with that dell model
