I'm trying to boot ubuntu on a live USB that I created from linuxpendrive.com the boot seems to work untill it gets stuck on the command line:
[ 5.648826] USB 2-1.8.2: new high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci-pci

The rest of the lines are similar. I would realy like to fix this as I have been stuck for months.

Solution

I would suggest that you download your Ubuntu from the Ubuntu site to make sure you get the right version for your hardware and then use unetbootin to install onto a flash drive. http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ Unetbootin is cross platform so there's a version for you there. Heck, unetbootin will even download for you if you'd like.
