So I have been spending the last week beating my head against the wall trying to figure out why I am having display errors & (1) BSOD. I have narrowed it down through various tests (memtest, prime95 etc) to be my GTX card- the drivers conflicting more specifically. So I have decided to RMA the card with newegg before time runs out and I have to deal with Nvidia directly.

There will be some lag time between sending the GTX out, and receiving the new card. My questions are the following:

- Is driver driver sweeper still a safe program to install? I have read in some posts that it now contains malware. Does anyone know for certain?
- I plan to download the latest AMD drivers to my desktop before removing the GTX, then uninstalling the Nvidia drivers, followed by shutting down and removing the current card. I will wait until the new card arrives, install it, and boot up/install new drivers from desktop.

Does this process sound right? I have an I5 4670k w/ integrated graphics- will this automatically take over once i wipe out all of my Nvidia drivers? Will I have any trouble booting up to install the new AMD drivers?

Thank you very much for the help

No, don't use driver sweeper, its not needed. Just go to the control panel and uninstall the drivers through that. All you need to do is wipe them, then install the AMD drivers when you get the card, not before. Once you plug your monitor into your motherboard the Intel graphics will take over yes.

Also you may want to continue beating your head against the wall just a while longer as the 9000 series is expected to hit before the end of September, now is a bad time to buy.

It seems like it would be a good idea to download them first, not necessarily install them? I can always download them to my USB while I'm waiting for the new card i suppose. The 7970 just had a 100$ price drop, which is why I'm looking at it (other than the fact that it will not run on those bogus Nvidia drivers). I would be hesitant to buy a newly released card after dealing with this driver headache...
