Any reason to wait on GTX 760?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a GTX 760 as an upgrade to my Radeon 6870. Few questions:

Does the flavor matter much? (Asus, EVGA, etc.)
Since it's a fairly knew card, I'm not anticipating too many great deals much. Any reason to wait?

Lastly, I've been considering the 7950 since it's $30 less and has an additional $20 rebate. Plus I like the three games better than Splinter Cell Black list. Would that be the better option?

My main concern is good performance for the next two years or so. I don't mind spending a little extra money, and the games aren't super important. Still go with the 760?

The 760 is a superb card, I have an ASUS 760 DCUII and I LOVE IT! The 760 and 7950 trade blows between each other and performance is just slightly in favor of the 760. On the other hand, the 7950 is much cheaper and with the 3 games, is better value. If you are going to get a 760, get an EVGA one due to the superb customer service, I chose ASUS because I am loyal to them :p. The 760 also does have a bit superior drivers. If you are going to get a 7950, I suggest MSi and SAPPHIRE.

Yes, the flavor matters much.....

Factory overclocked cards:

Asus - generally quietest, great cooler, modest OC settings outta the box, custom PCB and beefed up VRM
MSI - generally most aggressive OC settings outta the box, great cooler, custom PCB and beefed up VRM
Gigabyte - mirrors MSI
EVGA - good cooler, generally lowest OC outta the box (reason next), reference PCB and VRM

Not THAT much, it depends on the OP's needs TBH. If he just wants a nice, good looking card with a nice warranty, go EVGA, if he wants an aggressive, custom card go for GB, MSi or ASUS.

Thanks for the answers.

By aggressive, do you mean more configurable for performance?

I'm not an intense gamer, but I do want to play the ones I play at high settings. I don't anticipate doing a lot to configure the card. I would say reliability is more important than configuratability, assuming the performance is close.

By the way if the OP is planning to overclock he should get a HD 7950. Or if he plays higher than 1080p resolution he should get the HD 7950. The 3GB of VRAM and bigger memory bus would help. The performance of these cards are simliar and will trade blows as Q6660 said. But when overclocked the 7950 wins.

obviously everybody knows the 7950 trades blows with the 670/760, but for near a $100 less, there is no question that the 760 is just a flat out bad value all together for the time being.

I would wait for amd to release their next generation cards here soon and you will see the prices fall on the 7xx cards to more acceptable levels.

The cooler on the card isn't the best. If the OP overclocks then it's a bad choice. I'm also currently waiting for the next gen 9000 series too. :)
