Hello I bought my brand new computer about 3-4 months ago the parts were:
amd fx-4100
amd radeon 6670
1tb of memory
8gb ram
geforce nvidia 7025 motherboard
600W power supply

I decided to upgrade my gpu after games were running to slow for me, so I bought a gtx 660 2gb which when put in ran some games slower then before. Battlefield 3 max fps 10 even on ultra or low, minecraft, arma3,RO2,GTA4. A friend suggested that I buy a new cpu because my cpu was bottle-necking those games. I bought a amd fx-8350 and put her in, only to find that my computer would take 2 clicks to make a program open, games got lower fps, things open slower. My bios says amd fx-8350 and programs notice my upgraded parts. I removed the cmos battery for a min or so and put her in but same thing. I contacted amd with them saying ask nvidia if the motherboard can support the cpu and yes it can. I contacted amd again and got no answers. so this is my last option before sending it to a pro to look at it costing me more money. is this part defective do you guys think? maybe the gpu is? or did I do something wrong?

Solution
No, but a FX-6300 is supported, but it requires the BIOS be at F5.

Note: The proper thing to do is put the FX-4100 back in, upgrade the BIOS to F5, if necessary and then put in the FX-6300.

But my opinion is the FX-4100 might be fine, if you fix the driver issue for the video card.

From a HD 6670 to a GTX 660 is a pretty big upgrade, things should have been flying around the screen. How did you remove the AMD drivers and install the nVidia drivers?

What motherboard? (MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS) and model number?

I checked your motherboard here:

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4311#

and the FX-8350 is Not supported. Click on CPU Support List if you wish to double check. The good news is the FX-4100 is supported.
