Hi, there was a piece of plastic inside my psu which covered about half of the fan. It was mounted along with the fan grill and it fell off when i took the grill off to clean.

My question is; does anybody know what side to put the plastic so that its in the original/intended position? From what ive read, the plastic is used to direct airflow, although, the info about it is vague...

Solution
The clear plastic baffle is used to direct air towards the back of the PSU (i.e. the DC output cables side). That means that the covered half of the fan should be on the vent holes/power switch/AC input side of the PSU.

I have read something about such a device. It was shown and mentioned in a review of a PSU at the following link;
johnnyguru.com.
You didn't tell us what brand and model your psu is, so you may have to do a little research there.
If you can't find the review, suggest you call the manufacture; they should be willing to tell you how to reinstall it properly.
