Ok, So when i plug in my external hard drive i will not pop up in Computer Hard Drives so then i go to Disk Managment and i see a unallocated 500GB hard drive turned off. So when i go to turn it on i get this error data error (cyclic redundancy check) . So i ran a chkdsk on the whole system but it doesnt reconize the hard dirve. Any help?

You might try formatting it using that DVD.
Or use different applications or check some solutions here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/250083-32-unable-in...

You're using a laptop.
It might be an enclosure (rack) issue. Try in a PC if possible.

Ok so I have the hard drive plugged into a usb adapter right now. Into my newer laptop, also the usb adapter is powered. So the enclosed rack you mentioned. Would that effect this setup?

It might be an adapter issue, that's why I suggested formatting the HDD in a PC (connecting it through a SATA cable). Try asking a friend for helping you.
