Hello :)

Please forgive my noobish ways, however I must ask the gods among the Computing world... When my computer is plugged in, and in surfing the web, it's all good.

When it's on battery power, and I'm running an intense game, like Rift or Swtor, it's all good.

When I'm running an older game, plugged in... It works for about 20 minutes.

However, when I run SWTOR or Rift plugged in, boom, it turns off, and then turns itself on again. I've been playing these games for 2 years (or close to) so I was wondering, why now?

It started after I left it on my bed and forgot it for 3 days as I went on holiday... But why restart now?

I think my dear laptop is overheating, and I have to ask, if I took the bottom off and used it on a cooling pad, would it not overheat?

You see, it turns off immediately when plugged In running intense games, like, straight Away.... But the fact it lasts longer on old games gives me hope.

I just thought I'd ask you guys before I go out and buy a cooling pad.

I have a Fujitsu AH531 by the way. Not a gaming laptop, I know, but it's worked until now....

What's RF shielding?
By take the bottom off, I only mean the one panel with the circuitry and fan, just to ease it a bit....

Would a cooling stand be enough to let me play the games, do you think?

Ok, for some reason my computer doesn't show the BIOS keys when turning on, and I know that issue has plagued Fujitsu people for a while...

What I can say about the idle temp, is when running Speedfan alone, no other applications, I get:

Temp 1: 48-50C
HD0: 35C
Core0: 45-50
Core1: 43-49

Edit, gone down a little to 45,35,43,40...
I know position on lap/floor and room temp makes a difference though.

Without a charger they drop down a couple degrees,
