Hi ! Choosing a monitor is becoming more difficult as I research & browse through all the models available
I am not even sure what type is best for me anymore =[ Hoping for some helpful responses.

Primary use is browsing. secondary purpose - gaming with nvidia gtx770 -and for maxing newer games.
non-competitive, so dont really need 120Hz or super fast 2ms response. As long as minimal blacklight bleeding/ghosting.
Budget is around 500$ or less if possible.

My preferences :- atleast assuming what will suit me, feel free to suggest otherwise and why.
HQ IPS ( or VA? ), definitely within 21-24" for my viewing distance ~2 feet (cannot change view. dist on my desk setup)
prefer 1920x1080 but ok with 16:10
want matte or similar since i dont like reflections/glossy.
want height adjustable (good stand) and minimal backlight bleeding/ghosting.
what would be my best options for this req.^

Thank you for reading my post!

That's good you're willing to throw so much money at it but it's not necessary. I'd grab an ASUS PA238Q in your position and steer clear of AMVA. I bought a BenQ GW2450HM a couple of months back and was thoroughly unimpressed. It combined the responsiveness of a PVA or slower TN panel with TN colour quality. Meant to be best of both worlds but it's actually worst of both worlds. And blacks are nothing like as deep as advertised unless you drop brightness so low that colours become washed out. Sent that straight back and stuck with my old Samsung PVA (which has stunning blacks).

Thank you for all the quick responses !

Update :
So after reading up more on this. Is PLS only marginally better than e-ips ?
super wide viewing angles are not important to me, but definitely not going for TN model. don't necessarily want very best color production either. Reason why i'm willing to spend upto 500$ if worth it is- afterall its the window into my world, so not going to skimp out for a budget one if i can get a quality future proof monitor. Although if ~200$ price diff. is not worth the bump in Quality/future proof then a lower price one is fine. is 8-bit worth it ? Is high end IPS worth it compared to lower end e-ips ? high grade CCFL vs white leds. Which panels give the best blacks ?(with minimal lightbleeding ofcourse) - seems like PLS are worse in general for bleeding so that dosent help :/

Also another point is that I will NOT be using it for professional graphics/media/ photoshop and the like. Primary use browsing (dim for eye strain) and sec. use gaming. As long as good response time (non pro gaming), minimal input lag/backlight bleeding. non-cheap stand, good PWN free. around 22-24" but would prefer 24 ( no 27" ) , 1920x1200 or 1080p. semigloss and as matte as the dell is ok. but absolutely no glossy.

potential buys so far :
Samsung S24A850- everything great except backlight bleeding problem, is this a hit/miss or a given?
Dell u2410- response time 8ms seems worse, but g2g stat is mostly gimmicky isnt it?
^has great reviews - why choose other than this?
BenQ BL2411Pt - seems harder to find. what about VA variants ?
ASUS seems to make more budget ones- but do they trade off in quality?
Thoughts on NEC , Eizo alternatives ?

questions summarized ^ :
is PLS only marginally better than e-ips ?
is VA tech. dead ? so i can eliminate from list of choices - then left with PLS/ high end IPS.
most monitors seem to be 6bit, is pure 8bit worth it for future proof ?
higher end IPS worth it compared to lower end e-ips?
high grade CCFL vs white led.
what panels give the best blacks- obv. with minimal lightbleeding since it does not help dark scenes.

FS2333 vs EV2336 ? i think this will be my ultimate choice.

the EV seems rarer to find than the FS, about the same price range and no reviews/other info. for how light the coating is etc.
i've heard that the FS "gaming" features are mostly gimmicky and of no real value.
EV has slightly lower response - by how much ? is it significant enough? and is it good enough for gaming
stand seems better, but the fs does look good tho aesthetically.
also there are two models available at about the same price. the W and WFS-GY whats the difference here ?
