Hi. I have a sapphire 7950 and it says here that its max TDP is 200. I have a second 7950 coming for Crossfire. Does this mean it will be max TDP 400?

The 7990 has a max TDP of 375. Will my 2 7950s consume more power than a 7990?

Solution
A normal hd7950 draws about 175w
your Sapphire hd7950 vaporx draws 200w maximum because its boost function is enabled.

A normal hd7990 doesn't have boost enabled. Hence it draws relatively less power.

I have the sapphire Flex version but it does have the boost. And sometimes I overclock it and raise the power slider to 20%.

I should have phrased the question differently. I want to know if the two 7950s will constantly be drawing 400w while I'm playing?
I'm fairly certain that if I'm playing a very intensive game like Crysis 3 or Metro LL and turn the settings to max and the MSAA then both cards will be stressed to capacity and draw 400w although I may be wrong. But what about when I'm playing a game like Hitman-Absolution where my one 7950 can almost give me 60fps with all settings maxed. So will the second card be running at capacity as well or will it only give say 20% of it's power.

it depends on the gpu usage. As far as I know, most modern games can push a gpu to its limit usage ranging from 97-99%
At that point, its safe to assume, nearly most of its maximum power would be drawn. Since you have crossfire, the second gpu would experience a bit less power drainage depending on what the usage is. As in 99% on gpu 1 and 70% on gpu 2(just an example)
