Startled on upgrading - CPU OR GPU?

I have a AMD FX-4100 OC'ed to 4.0GHz. I also have a 128GB SSD, 8GB RAM, and a AMD Radeon 7770. I get about 20 FPS in cherno, and about 25-35 outside of cherno. I am wanting to get a FPS of about 40-ish in cherno, so that I can record and actually be able to sacrifice the frame drop from DXTory.

I have a budget of around £175.. So I can either upgrade to a 7870 or a 660TI, or upgrade the CPU to a AMD FX-8350. Intel processors are a no-go for my motherboard.

For those who do not know, I am told that Arma is a VERY CPU intensive game, and I don't know whether to get a CPU or GPU. I also RECORD, and RENDER. That's what's pushing me towards the CPU... Let me know please!

Would really appreciate the help,

Well, depending on your game settings. Sometimes you can get higher FPS on high settings because more of the GPU is being used at the time. So I would buy a new GPU.

And what GPU would you recommend? The 7870 I linked above, or a 660TI? Also someone said my power supply has "rails" and that I won't be able to upgrade my GPU because it will take too much power? It's a 550 watt basic PSU.

You're rite since the 7950 is slightly better if not on par with the gtx 760, in most benchmarks though, the 7950 surpasses the gtx 760 by only a few frames per second, and yes it does make it the better bundle because of the 3 free games, BUT, keep in mind the gtx 760 comes with physx.
