I received this computer as a present last Christmas. It does not perform well enough for me to stream (console gaming) at 720p. It drops frames and overheats.

Keep in mind this is going to be my first time upgrading/ building a PC. Thanks in advance for your help.

My questions are:
1. Can I upgrade the processor to intel i5 or i7?

2. Can I get a new case/ if so which?

3. What all would you advise I upgrade for it to be able to handle streaming on twitch.tv?

I know I need some more RAM and a better processor probably.

Solution
Your acer is an older tech all in one which does not lend itself well to upgrades. The socket 775 architecture is 4-5 generations old now and while you MIGHT be able to upgrade the cpu to a core two duo, you are locked in on the video as the gpu is integrated and soldered to the board.

You might be able to reduce temps by removing the back and blowing the dust bunnies out, but basically you have an older machine with a weak cpu and gpu. There's really not much you can do to improve the performance.
