Hi, I want to buy a gaming PC that will enable me to play Rome 2 Total War when it comes out on high settings. I know virtually nothing about the different components in a PC so I don't know which ones are the best or which ones I need. So could someone give me a build that I could make. My budget is £500 maximum.

The recommended spec for Rome 2 Total war are:
Processor:2nd Generation Intel Core i5 processor (or greater)
Memory:4GB RAM
Graphics:1024 MB DirectX 11 compatible graphics card.
DirectX®:11
Hard Drive:35 GB HD space

You might want to shop for parts that are comparable to this build.
The prices where you are may be different.

Since you do not seem to need lots of hard drive space, I might suggest you substitute a 120gb or 240gb ssd for the hard drive
