Build quality of H87 mobos

I will be helping my friend convert to pc gaming and i will build a new pc for him.His budget isn't that high and there won't be any overclocks.Planning to get a H87 mobo to save some money.

Is the build quality of H chipset mobos the same with Z chipset mobos ?

I am not talking about oc performance or pcie lanes or any board features.I am curious about the build quality itself.

An Asus H87 board should be a high quality product. Sometimes ASRock boards can be thinner than others, but I have yet to have one fail. Both of these companies use quality parts like all-solid capacitors and ferrite-core chokes.

I know the difference between the chipsets and it is a bit more than just oc but thats beside the point.

There won't be overclocks but if the build quality of a h87 is worse than a z87 (caps,solder point quality,stuff like that) i will use the z87 anyway.

Thanks for the answer.I had a slight doubt in my mind because the last time i used a lower tier chipset was 4th series intels and i was very inexperinced to know whats what and i have used the first tier chip ever since.

I should be fine with any of the big 4 then i guess.

It probably isn't the chipset so much as the brand. While their expensive ones are nice, cheap MSI boards do not have a good reputation (in particular for weak VRMs). Low-end Foxconn, Biostar, ECS, and Jetway (probably the worst) typically use low-end parts, although Biostar and ECS have some higher-quality stuff too. If you look for all-solid Japanese capacitors and ferrite (rather than iron) chokes, you'll be getting a better product than something with lesser components.
