i juz wanna try out linux....so, i wanna make my pc to dual boot(windows 7 n linux)....i dun know anythin about linux....so,can you guys recommend me any version of linux 4 me 2 download....btw,do i need to install drivers n softwares as when i freshly installed windows or the linux will grab all the data's where i saved in windows cuz im gonna install both os'es in the same hard drive....thanks in advance....

you can play your music, films, open word files, etc in linux.
games are software so unless they have linux support the it's a NO :'(

i'm a big pc gamer and i think out off the the 300+ games i have only 20 or 30 have linux support thanks to steam. so don't go into linux to play games. (thats not to say there aren't some great linux only games too).

What is a live cd???

Live CD's let you boot into linux and run it all from a cd or dvd disc. so you can try out the basics and see what they have to offer with out installing them.

i often use a ubuntu live dvd to transfer or delete files windows doesn't want me too :)

What about drivers ,softwares, and files???will the merge with windows???

most windows driver and software will not work in linux. you will have to us linux versons. ubuntu and linux mint have great drive support and will have compatible drivers already on the disc for most things or will be able to download the driver during installation or from updates (about like windows updates).

Ihave a lot of games,musics,videos in my windows 7...will it work as usual in linux as well???
