CPU self overclocking?

Hey I have been using OCCT for some tests and such, but in the System Information tab it says my CPU is overclocking 5-15% while idle.
The current MHz is 3300-3500, while it says the original is 2933 MHz. I am using an i7 Quad Core 870 @ 2.93Ghz. Why is my CPU overclocking itself even when idle?

That's turbo core bumping up the clock speed when there's thermal headroom, it can go up to 3600 Mhz, so nothing to worry about.

OCCT potentially may not report frequencies correctly. Confirm with CPU-Z, it is much more reliable indicator.

Clock Speed 2.93 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency 3.6 GHz

Working as intended, nothing to see here.

Why is it in Max Turbo when nothings making it?

Momentary load can cause it. It tends to move really fast and CPU tools tend to exaggerate the effect. It's a little weird till you get use to it.
