I have 3 computers (1 desktop and 2 laptops) and a smartphone connected to my wireless network. Only the desktop has this issue while the others the connection remains active.
I've searched the net for others having this issue and have found a ton of "connection drops every few seconds" and have tried several suggestions to no avail.
1. reinstalling the network adapter's WLAN card driver
2. scanning for virus, trojans...etc
3. disabling the power management for the card. I actually thought this did the trick as the connection stayed active for about an hour then.. back to its old ways. I recheck the power management item but it was still disabled.

I thought before I spend the money on purchasing a new card to try that I'd put out my own question looking for insights as most of the issues I read on the web were years old.
Thanks for any insights.
Bill

the desktop is wired try to borrow a card from a friend to test your network connection ,the other thing you could do is use a laptop in the wired parts of your router to see if it drop like the desktop .

Thanks for the reply. The desktop is NOT wired, it too is wireless like the other three devices that work just dandy. However, borrowing a buddy's card to test on the desktop is a good idea. Thanks
