Mobo not recognizing Hard drive

My asrock fm2a85x won't recognize my 1tb internal western digital hdd. I can see that it is connected by SATA in the bios but i can't instant flash, install drivers, or install OS. Please help.

Sometimes it had to be enabled in BIOS for the HDD to work. Did you enable it in BIOS ?

Yeah I played around with the settings so much, but I don't really see whats left to enable or disable with as many times i've tried.

Is this the only HDD attached to the MB ? Or there are more ? If it is the only HDD and not recognized by MB then it might be the MB is bad. Did you hear any beeps sound on startup ?

Yeah like I can see its connected in sata port 1 next to optical drive in the system browser, in the tools part of bios, but still nothin. It beeped once when i pushed F2 to get to the setup but is hasn't since yesterday when i built it.

No beep sound and HDD is also not recognizing means the MB is faulty, RMA it, or replace it.

Well found what my real problem was, im just stupid. I wasn't installing OS correctly. I was trying to install windows xp but i had a bad copy so because i didnt have anything else i just downloaded and installed ubuntu, since its free, but it worked. So sorry for ruining your great asistance.
