what cpu is good for my server

Hi I am going to build a server to use for multiple dlna movie streaming using ftp and backingup using acronis via samba. will a dual core lg115 2.8ghz cpu do a good job? also I will use windows storage pool

For streaming multiple movies, I would recommend something like the FX 6300/6350/8320/8350. They would be drastically better than any dual core. The bang for your buck is good there too.

Thanks but I am not the comfortable with AMD i used lintel all my life so I am not sure of the AMD performance and do not know much about them

The FX 6300 is significantly better than the dual core you're talking about...it's not even close, especially at multitasking.

Also, just because you've always had Intel does not make them better for your intended purpose and budget.

2 CPU AMD AM3+ Quad Core 3.8GHz L2&L3 4MB Boxed
3 CPU AMD AM3 AthlonII*4 quad Core 645 3.1GHz 2MB Tray

others he has go up in price. are one of there ok
