No doubt this is a type of question that gets asked all the time, but I am going to join the club.

What is the best graphics card I can buy for £70/$110 or less?

Thanks

Make sure you check out pages 7 and 8.

Then, if you need more confidence, Google a bit more on more reviews for any possibilities.

By the way, ATI and NVIDIA, as you will know, both offer competitive cards for most price ranges (oops!). So it's up to you - green or red (see, I put green first there to balance things out :) ).

Lucky for you, you're just in the starting price range for Nvidia physx, which if you don't already know is basically this add on which comes with high end nvidia graphics cards that gives you awesome physics and graphics on loads of games. So gtx 650 looks like the way to go with that price range here is a link to novatech.com which is a totally awesome computer part website that has my mark of approval.
Hope this helps...

No way! NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 is comparable to AMD Radeon HD 7750, so AMD Radeon HD 7770 is a much better choice. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161402

In theory you are correct but look at the benchmark. Plus you have physx.

There are actually more http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_hardware-accelerated_PhysX_support and they are all good POPULAR games.

Thank you all for your responses. It looks like the 7770 is the way to go. I take it this takes up 2 PCI-e slots? Will my standard power supply be enough? Out of interest, as £70/$110 was my max what would be an alternate cheaper card to the 7770?

Thanks

Depends on what the "standard power supply" is, there is no single standard for a system, you need to check it to see what the wattage is. If your system is a Dell, a 300 watt PSU may be just fine, but cutting it petty close. You'll be a lot safer replacing it with a bit higher wattage one.

The next card down from the 7770 is the 7750 which uses very little power and costs about $20-30 less than the 7770. Depending on your other specs like CPU and RAM amount, that may be a better pick anyway. You just listed your budget, not what system you have.

Okay I have just found out the max power ouput of my PSU is 275 watts.

The rest of my computer specs are as follows...

Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.7GHz
Ram - 4gb
Hard Drive - 250gb

A 7770 will not fare well in your system.
Get a 7750, it will run great on the power supply and will match your CPU as well. If you want to get a faster card to move to a faster computer, you need to upgrade the powersupply and get the 7770 or the 650 ti boost. The 650 is faster and will be a better overall buy for the future, but costs more.

Okay thank you. For future reference, keeping the rest of the system the same, what wattage PSU would be necessary for the 7770? Also, any particular brand that is better i.e Sapphire or MSI?
