So im planing to upgrade my pc for gaming, but i dont want to spend a lot of money on a card, that my system cant get full advantage of, so Im asking the community for advice. My specs:

Core 2 Duo E7600 dual core @3.06ghz with 3mb of L2 cache

12gb DDR3 @1066mhz

My currant gpu is GeForce 8600gs, and i have seen this card with Pentium single core configuration...

I know netpages with gpu benchmarks, so i just need the "redline" of my cpu...

Im also aiming for GeForce cards cause they have some sweet stuff(PhysX and CUDA)

What is the brand and model (not just wattage) of your PSU? If it is sufficient, something like a GTX650Ti Boost (or the non-Boost) would probably be a good match without spending too much money.

bottlenecks all depend on the particular game you are playing. so buy something in your price range, which you haven't given us, so its hard to recommend something. also makes it tough without knowing your PSU.

something like a 650 or 660 should be ok.
