Hallo all
Just builed a new gaming rig.
First thing everything stable at stock voltages etc i need you to advice me the programs i need in order to oc my cpu core i7 3770k on gigabyte ud3h and the bios settings like options i need to disable or enable in order to start the oc. I have no idea of this bios since my last oc was on s775 with intel core2duo E7600 and the new proccesor has plenty of options and extras. Plz help me....i am using an ocz fatal1ty gaming series 750 watt psu and corsair h100i cpu cooler. Aiming at least 4.5ghz stable oc. My case great front and rear fans with impressive push pull action. I used new fans. 4 corsair 120mm fans at 2350rpms for case push pull and another 2 to push pull the h100i radiator for best cooling. I will be huppy at 4.5 ghz but i hope we will reach 4.7
What do you think guys can i? Will you take me by the hand and get started? Tnx you all in advance!!

for mild OC, (4.4 to 4.6ghz) only thing you need to touch is the CPU ratio (44 for 4.4ghz and 46 for 4.6ghz) and the CPU Vcore (depending on your chip i expect around 1.25 to 1.3V for that mild OC)

To ensure stability, disable Spread Spectrum, C1E, EIST, Turbo boost, and any other power saving features (i don't know gigabyte specific names but most important one are all under the power saving or energy saving tab or something like that...)

Make sure you have the latest bios to ensure memory compatibility and load XMP profile to ensure ram stability

Some CPU have trouble running high frequency ram so i suggest to test your max OC with 1333 or 1600 speed, then set to higher if you have faster ram and want the extra speed... (my 3770k...

Some CPU have trouble running high frequency ram so i suggest to test your max OC with 1333 or 1600 speed, then set to higher if you have faster ram and want the extra speed... (my 3770k don't pass 4.8ghz with 48*100 base clock and 2133mhz ram but pass at 46*105 and 2240mhz ram)

I suggest that you start at 4.4, then goes higher with 1.3V until the CPU isn't stable anymore and then decide if you want higher OC as a lot more settings are involved pass 4.6-4.7ghz (like PLL overvoltage, PLL Voltage, System agent, Ram timings, Base clock, etc...)

I don't suggest more than 1.35V Vcore for 24/7 operation and make sure temps don't go over 80 for 24/7 but since you're using an H100i i don't expect that you'll have an overheating issue...

PS: if 1.35V don't pass 4.6Ghz, don't expect more than that as you have a really bad chip (i have a 3570k that can't reach 4.5ghz stable even at 1.4V Vcore but it's really a isolate batch as most of them get 4.6-4.7ghz with 1.35-1.4V, i got it at 100$ a year ago as the guy was disapointed and bought a new one, since i use it in an HTPC, it's not a problem for me

Ok then so i have to disable all the above power saving features amd make a lil research about it.also i will be fine at 4.5ghz since i dont have to mess up the ram timing and frequencies. Btw my ram is G.skill tridentx 16gb at 2133mhz where is already high factory overclocked. I dont know if it will be fine at 2240 like yours :/
