A quick preface: You might be wondering why there's no case or PSU on this build-- I found a good deal on a case and an INSANE deal on a PSU and bought them both today-- in case you're wondering I bought the Fractal Design R4 (Titanium) for $40 off ($89.99 total) and I bought a SeasSonic 850w Bronze Modular PSU and had a -$40 promo code coupled with a $20 MIR brought the PSU down to $70 where it's originally $130. What a steal!! This is totally irrelevant but I'm super stoked-- I had $250 in rewards points from my credit card so I basically got the case and PSU for free, and I've still got a free $60 to throw at this build.
Anyways, the goal for this build is to be able to play next gen games to include Watch Dogs, The Witcher 3, Battlefield 4, and Titanfall on nearly maxed out settings with a FPS of around 60. I game on a single 1080p monitor, but I might be going 1440p in the near future.
I already own a SSD (256gb) but I'll be keeping all of my multiplayer games on the "dump drive," I chose Caviar Black because I read it had a somewhat significant performance increase over cheaper models, plus a 5 year warranty.
Oh, and I picked that RAM because it was on the QVL (Qualified Vendor List) of my motherboard-- a friend told me to make sure it is even though I'm pretty clueless-- it's also an excellent price for 1866 RAM.
Final note: I'm totally torn between this single GTX 770 or dual GTX 760's. The SLI config will only run me $100 more than a single 770... decisions, decisions.
